Debra Louise Stamps, 67, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Debra was born in Iredell County on August 12, 1958, to the late John Stamps Jr. and Aleece Lawrence. She graduated from Morningside High School in Statesville and worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Debra was very outgoing, she had a wonderful personality, and she was also very spiritual. She loved the Lord and going to church. She was a member of Zion Wesley AME Church in Troutman.

She was a homemaker who loved her family and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed hosting family parties and going to family reunions. She was an excellent cook, an awesome home decorator, and very talented in arts and crafts.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother, Gary Maurice Stamps.

She is survived by her son, Shanelle Stamps; her daughter, Teressa Stamps Holmes (Shonnell); brother, Ricky Stamps; sisters, Rena Stamps, Karen Fraley, and Mary Jane Wellman; grandchildren, Alyssa Stamps and Jacobie Stamps (Haley); great grandson, Julian Stamps; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her fiancé, Stephen Byers, and special friends, Barbara Saddler, Helene Stevenson, and Natalie Dunlap.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 1 until 2 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A Homegoing Celebration will follow beginning at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Hubert Bellamy officiating.
