Deon Etchison Thompson, 86, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 23, 1938, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Walter “Jip” and Lottie Brown Etchison. Ms. Thompson retired from Draymore Manufacturing. She enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing and shagging. She loved her family but her love for her grandsons and great grandchildren was very special. Deon adored her special kitty, Baby, who showed up when she was sick and needed her the most.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Darrell Etchison.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Byers; grandsons, Brad Byers and wife Leslie, and Chad Byers; and great grandchildren, Colton and Alexis Byers.

No services will be held.
