Eddie “Dean” Baker Sr., 80, of Mooresville, N.C., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025. He was born on December 27, 1944, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Fred Lee Baker and Gynell Anthony Baker.
Dean was an electrician for Mooresville Mills and Control Room Operator for Duke Power at Marshall Steam Station. He also was a Volunteer Firefighter for the Mooresville Rescue Squad and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by children, Kimberly Jeanette Baker, Eddie Dean Baker Jr., Mark Anthony Baker, and Heather Elizabeth Baker; sister, Brenda Baker; and brothers, Joe Baker and Philip Lee Baker.
Those left to cherish Dean’s memory are his loving wife, Mary Ann Sines Baker; brother, Doye Gene (Cathy) Baker; sister, Janice Baker (Clayton) Nobles; and grandchildren, Samuel and Logan Baker.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church, Mooresville. Burial will follow the service at Willow Valley Cemetery, Mooresville. Dean will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mooresville Fire & Rescue Children’s Burn Center Fund, 457 N. Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115.
