Gloria Jean Butler Inabinet, 69, of Mooresville, N.C., peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville. She was born on July 15, 1956, in Stanly County and was the beloved daughter of the late Claude Butler Jr. and Lula Mae Brown Butler. Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Inabinet; a son, David Butler; a brother, Gregory Lee Butler; and a sister, Nakolia Butler Evans; and will be remembered for her nurturing spirit, strength, and devotion to her family.

Gloria was a graduate of North Stanly High School and later continued her education at Strayer College. She worked in housekeeping at a local hospital. She was a woman of deep faith, grounded in her beliefs, and was a member of Highland Acres Church, where her service to others was a testament to her character.

She leaves behind a loving legacy, including her stepson, Justin Peoples of Badin, N.C.; four brothers, Claude Butler Jr. and Henry James Butler, both of Mooresville, Demetrius (Elaine) Butler of Albemarle, N.C., and Dares Chester (Belinda) Butler of China Grove, N.C.; two sisters, Valarie Stanback of Sherrills Ford, N.C., and Rosalind Butler of Albemarle, N.C.; uncles, Rev. Frank Butler of Badin, N.C., Wilbert Butler of Albemarle, N.C., and Samuel Butler of New London, N.C.; aunts, Minnie Medley of Badin, N.C., and Alice Bankston of Biscoe, N.C.; a cherished niece and goddaughter, Atilya Melton of Norwood; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at Highland Acres Church on Tuesday at 12 noon, officiated by Brother Al Simmons. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon. She will be laid to rest at Belmont Cemetery.
