Grady Alvin Willis, 96, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

He was born on September 19, 1929 in Lincolnton, N.C., to the late Doctor and Mary Bingham Willis. Mr. Willis was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War, where he served as a medic on the front line and received a Purple Heart Award. He worked for many years at the Mooresville Iron Works and retired from the Mooresville ABC Store. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Mooresville, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Willis, along with his wife Willie, were active members of the Spinning Moor Square Dancing Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Kennerly Willis; and sister, Ruth Shoemaker.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Willis; goddaughter, Pam Strickland; sister, Hazel Hagler; brothers, Ray Willis (Marie), and Gene Willis (Sissy); special family friend, Selena Carver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 1, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. David Klinedinst and Rev. Hal D. Greene officiating. Burial will follow the service at Willow Valley Cemetery in Mooresville.
