Hayden Kyle McDaniels, 30, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on May 7, 2025.

In the grand construction site of life, Hayden Kyle McDaniels, who graced this world with his presence on April 15, 1995, in Statesville, has taken his final earthly coffee break as of May 7, 2025, at the age of 30. Known for his knack with a hammer and his heart of gold, Hayden worked tirelessly around the Lake Norman area, where he built not only structures, but also strong friendships.

A graduate of Alexander Central High School, Hayden was a true artist with a tackle box and a joystick. His love for fishing was rivaled only by his passion for video games and cars of every shape and size. A self-proclaimed handyman, he found immense joy in working with his hands, although his PS4 controller might beg to differ.

Hayden’s legacy of kindness and generosity will be fondly remembered by those he leaves behind. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward McDaniels, who undoubtedly greeted him with open arms and a fishing pole. Surviving him are his loving mother, Christina Allen McDaniels, and sister, Trinity McDaniels; his maternal grandmother, Cynthia Steele; paternal grandparents, Bonnie Lackey and Eddie McDaniels; three lively aunts, Cameo Steele, Randesha Steele, and Donna Worrell; as well as a nephew, Charles Botbly, and a niece, Maleah Tabor.

Of course, no tribute would be complete without mentioning his loyal canine companion, Athena, who was his steadfast partner in crime.

Services will soon be announced and held at Lake Norman, a fitting backdrop for a man who cherished the waterside and the people around it.

Hayden was an unselfish, caring, and hardworking person who never hesitated to lend a helping hand (or a spare wrench) to anyone in need. Though his time with us was far too short, his impact was as solid and enduring as the structures he helped build. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a moment of silence followed by a round of Mario Kart in his honor—because let’s face it, Hayden would’ve wanted it that way.

Nicholson Funeral Home is caring for the McDaniels Family.
