Hubert Nantz Kistler, 87, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at his home.

He was born on July 22, 1938 in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Roderick and Julia Nantz Kistler. Mr. Kistler was retired from Celanese in Salisbury. He was a member of Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius.

A man of simple pleasures, Hubert found joy in the great outdoors, whether it was enjoying a game of baseball or softball, hunting and fishing, or visiting the beach with loved ones. He cherished the moments spent at the fish camp and delighted in playing cards, especially the game of Nickel Nickel, with family and friends. Additionally, Hubert loved playing putt-putt, where laughter and friendly competition filled the air.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bryon Clayton Kistler, and daughter-in-law, Amanda Kistler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66½ years, Mary Church Kistler; children, Brenda McAllister, Jason Kistler (Miranda); sister, Brenda Leazer; brother, Larry Kistler; grandchildren, Brittany Bechy (Darrell), Mallory Whitley (Jack), Matt McAllister (Morgan), Caleb Kistler (Sara), Paije Kistler; great grandchildren, Avery, Brooks, Brandtley, and Aspyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 22, from 4 to 5 p.m. with a service following at 5 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, with Pastor Paul Turbedsky and Pastor Farrell Lemings officiating.
