
Irvin Saunders Walls Sr., 82, of, Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville. He was born April 26, 1943, in Welch W.Va., a son of the late Montson Walls and the late Hallie Waldron.
Irvin was an army veteran and enjoyed working in the coal mines as a safety inspector.
In addition to his parents, Irvin was preceded in death by his wife Amanda Walls; sisters Mary, Beatrice, Clarice, Wanda, Martha and Joann; and brothers Guy, Kenny and Herbert.
Survivors include his daughter Evelyn (Steven Coleman) of Statesville, N.C.; a son, Irvin Walls Jr. and wife Amy of Mooresville; granddaughters Jessica Jones and Ameila Coleman; grandsons Jonathan Hatfield and Troy Coleman; great granddaughters Imani Jones, Everly Scott, Audrey Hatfield, Paisley Hatfield and Kinlee Hatfield; two loving sisters, Betty Canellas of Indiana and Katherine Muncy of Welch W.Va.; a sister-in-law Venie (Freddie) Honaker of Ameila, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special friend and neighbor James Hamrick and Wonderful friend and caregiver Patty Simmons.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 1 p.m. with Reverend LeRoy Blakenship officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, W.Va. Burial will follow in the Short Ridge Cemetery on Garland Mountain near Garland, W.Va. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit with the family Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, W.Va.
