Jane was a cheerleader and basketball player while attending Ben Haven High School. After graduation, she attended Lees-McRae College, where she met the love of her life, Ray, and graduated with an Associate of Arts. She was a member of Mooresville First Baptist Church, where she loved attending her Sunday School Class, The Kingdom Seekers. She taught Sunday School, Training Union and was a member of the XYZ choir.

Our mom loved hosting the family at home and cooking big meals. She especially liked to cook a big Sunday lunch that we all enjoyed after church. She loved going to the beach and traveling all over the country with family and loved celebrating Christmas at home and Thanksgiving and July 4th at the beach.

One of her greatest joys was being called Mawmaw to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sisters, Wilma Moore, Doris Hayes and Betty Russell; and brothers, Edwin, Frank, Roland, Ernest Jr., Beverly and Irvin Currin.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Ray E. Jackson; daughters, Alison Martin (Wayne) of Huntersville, Maria Lowe of Steilacoom, Wash., and son, Eugene Jackson (Sheila) of Matthews.
