
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Janet Louise Jolly Jordan. Janet departed this world peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Statesville, N.C., at the age of 83. Born on May 22, 1942, in Iredell County, N.C., Janet lived a life that was a testament to kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for her family.
Janet began her career as a switchboard operator at the Iredell County Department of Social Services, where she served with diligence and compassion. Her professional life was marked by her commitment to helping others and her extraordinary ability to connect with everyone she encountered.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Janet’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, and was a constant source of support and inspiration. Her legacy of love and devotion lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Janet was a devoted member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church, where her faith shone brightly and guided her throughout her life. Her spiritual strength and boundless kindness touched the lives of many within her community. A proud graduate of Central High School, Janet maintained lifelong friendships and fond memories from her school days.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Margie Louise Millsaps and Charles Edward Jolly Jr.
Janet is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Fred Dennis Jordan; her daughter, Janna Summers; her dear sister, Brenda Kay Bowles (Cecil); her treasured grandchildren, Jadyn Williams and Gavin Summers; and her great-grandchild, Colter Williams. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her, including other family members and countless friends.
A visitation to honor Janet’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Rocky Hill Baptist Church, 823 Mountain View Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
Janet’s life was a beautiful example of love, strength, and grace. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who knew and loved her. In remembering Janet, we celebrate a life well-lived and a legacy that will endure for generations to come.
