Jimmie Ray Terrell Jr., 59, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully in the company of his fiancée and close friend on Sunday, June 22, 2025, after a period of declining health.

Jimmie was born March 28, 1966 in Pleasant Plains, Ark., and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Jimmie lived life his way and made no apologies for it. He carried a quiet strength that he saved for protecting those that he loved and cherished. He studied souls, not faces. If he called you a friend, it meant he saw the goodness of your soul.

Jimmie is survived by his fiancée, Kathy Barkley, who cared for him 24/7 and loved him unconditionally; a special friend, Lynette Aldridge; his father, Jimmie Ray Sr.; daughter, Michelle; brother, Arthur; sister, Peggy Sue; granddaughter, Karla; grandson, Noah; and several other grandchildren and family members whom he loved even with distance between them.

A memorial to remember Jimmie will be organized and announced at later date by those closest to him.
