Joey Alan Absher, 57, of Olin, N.C., passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. A native of Wilkes County, N.C., he was the son of the late Arlie Clyde Absher and Mary Maxine Taylor Absher, and the stepson of the late Alice Church Absher. In addition to his parents and stepmother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Stuart Absher.

Joey was a reserved yet strong-willed man with a wonderful wit and a heart full of love. He worked hard and loved even harder. He was crafty and loved to work with his hands, but above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved grandchildren, whom he cherished with all his heart.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Mary Absher of Advance, N.C.; his sister, Regina Brennan of Statesville; his cherished grandchildren, Brody Johnson and Holland Johnson; his fiancée, Dawn Sparacino; and his devoted dog, Allie.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 2 until 3 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home in Statesville. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home with Minister Michael Absher and Minister Brenda Wallace officiating.
