
Joseph Paul Sparacio, 80, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital.
He was born on August 15, 1945, in New York City to the late Vincent Sparacio and Antoinette Cernigliaro Sparacio. Mr. Sparacio was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending his time with other veterans and friends at Richard’s Coffee Shop in downtown Mooresville. He was a retired funeral director as well as a retired injury claims adjuster in New York.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Vincent Sparacio Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Catherine Nuccio Sparacio; children, Jason Sparacio (Alison), Andrea S. Sicotte (Spencer), and David Sparacio (Stephene); his grandchildren, Henry, Vincent, Harrison, Giovanni, Poppy and Lincoln; his siblings George, Nick and Marge; and his partner in crime, Frankie “Da Fluff.”
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville. A graveside service with military honors will follow the service at 1:30 p.m. at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
