Josephine Tevepaugh Powers, 91, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was born on August 29, 1933, in Mooresville to the late Harvey and Leona Benfield Tevepaugh.

Josephine was a graduate of Brawley School and owned Powers Laundromat for many years in  Mooresville. She was a longtime member of Prospect Presbyterian Church and loved to travel. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Eugene Powers; daughter, Rita Brown; brother, James Brackett Jr.; and sister, Jackie Thaxton.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her daughter, Harriet Beaver (Michael); grandchildren, Mark Willis (Michelle), Monica Brown, Clint Carpenter (Gabrielle), and Meghan Beaver; great grandchildren, Caleb Willis and Madison Grell.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Prospect Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the church.
