
Judith Irene Martin (Cook), 75, of Stony Point, N.C. passed away peacefully at her residence on October 17, 2025. Born on March 12, 1950, to the late Joseph Howie and Anna Marie Cook, she was quickly given the nickname “sunshine baby” due to her bright blonde hair and happy disposition.
She spent her professional career as a successful business owner and hair stylist, known for her skill and dedication to her clients. In her free time, she enjoyed science fiction novels, music, traveling and artwork. Her passion for drawing and painting leave behind a legacy of creativity and beauty that her family will cherish forever.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Thomas Martin; her cherished son, James Martin; her infant daughter Laura; her brothers Rick, Tom and Charlie; and her sister Patricia.
Judith’s memory lives on through her surviving family, including her grandchildren, Jessica Pitts, Matthew Pitts, Kaenan Martin and Talon Martin; her great grandson Carter Pitts; and her sisters Cheryl (Raymond) Del Valley and Carol (James) Lattin.
