
Julia Beverly Wood Farr, 90, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on December 18, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Born in Susquehanna County, Pa., Julia was the daughter of the late Jerry Leonard Wood and Edna Springer Wood.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a woman of deep faith. She was a member of Mountain Road Baptist Church. Julia found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved working jigsaw puzzles, was an avid reader, and faithfully read her Bible each morning and evening. She found peace outdoors, especially while tending to flowers, and had a special love for children. Gifted with remarkable creativity, Julia expressed her talents through needlepoint, quilting, and crocheting, creating treasured heirlooms that will be lovingly passed down through generations of her family.
In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Roland Clyde “RC” Farr.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Jean Farr Ducket (Wiley) of Seattle, Wash.; and her five sons, Robert Farr (Joyce) of Parkersburg, W.Va., Roland C. Farr Jr. (Julia) of Mooresville, N.C., Jeffrey Randall Farr (Betty) of Statesville, N.C., Kevin Lee Farr (Susan) of Scranton, Pa., and Brian Keith Farr of Savannah, Ga. She is also survived by her brother, Leonard Wood of Montrose, Pa. Julia was a proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren, as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
The family will receive friends at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 5 until 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home immediately following the visitation at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Fox officiating. A service of committal will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery with Pastor Bill Troutman officiating.
