Karen Goforth, 46, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Karen was born on July 6, 1970, in Iredell County, N.C., to Dale Goforth and Nancy Hill. Karen earned her associate degree in Medical Billing and Coding. She devoted much of her life to caring for others, working in home health and as a caregiver — roles that perfectly matched her compassionate and selfless spirit. She was a loving and caring daughter and mother, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own. Protective by nature, Karen stood as a constant source of strength and comfort to those around her.

She found joy in the simple pleasures of life — especially watching Hallmark Christmas movies, where she cherished the warmth and cheer of the season all year round. Karen also had a deep love for nature, often finding peace and happiness at the beach or in the mountains, particularly in Pigeon Forge, a place close to her heart. Butterflies held a special meaning to Karen, symbolizing beauty and the gentle way she touched the lives of others. She also enjoyed diamond painting, a craft that reflected her patience and eye for beauty.

Karen will be remembered for her compassion and the love she gave so freely. Her memory lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Nancy Hill; father, Dale Goforth (Kitty); son, Nathan Earp; daughter, Brittany Earp (Matthew); brother, Chris Goforth (Jennifer); niece, Madi Goforth; and nephew, Mason Goforth.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matthew Harrold officiating with graveside to follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Nicholson Funeral Home is serving the family.
