Karen Phyllis Roberts, 62, of Statesville, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 9, 2025, at her home. Karen was born in McDowell County, W.Va., on September 1, 1962, to the late Elisha Miles Roberts and Alice Steele. She was of the Pentecostal Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Matthew Steele, William Steele, and Jamie Steele; three brothers, Eugene Roberts, Riley Roberts, and Junior Roberts; and one sister, Carol Sue Roberts.

Survivors include two sons, BJ Steele and wife Cindy, and Denny Ray Steele and wife Deidre; two brothers, Donald Roberts and wife Helen, and Roy Roberts and wife Gayle; three sisters, Ellen Hall, Ruth Ann Harless, and Polly Roberts and husband Leonardo; and four grandchildren, Brandon, Devin, Dalton (Brittany), and Zachary; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Also surviving are long-time friends, Tracey and Martha Collier, and special friend, Bobby Gobel.

The family will have a private service.
