Kimberly Ann Styles-Fearing, 63, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. Kim was born on June 16, 1962, to Nancy Carolynn Styles and James Howard Styles Sr. in Statesville.

Kim graduated from Statesville High School in 1980 and attended Mitchell Community College. She worked at the Animal Hospital of Statesville for a number of years, and then worked as a caregiver for her sister Kelly.

She leaves behind a son, Joshua Lee Johnson (Joni Johnson); a daughter, Brittany Leann Moore (Lindsey Locklear); grandchildren, Aidan Johnson, Dylan Johnson, Avery Locklear, and Ezra Locklear; a brother, James “Bud” Howard Styles Jr. (Rhonda Styles); and a sister, Kelly Suzanne Styles.

Kim’s passions included the beach, Josh Gates, spooky shows, getting crafty, and spending time with the ones she loved. She is described by many as having the kindest and sweetest soul, and she really did. She had a gentle way about her that made you feel a sense of safety and warmth. She loved people and saw the best in everyone. She was loved beyond words, and she will be missed the same way.

A memorial of life event will take place on October 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr. Park, followed by a burial on October 23 at 5 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.
