Larry Eugene Delph, 73, of Supply, N.C., and formerly of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1952, in Imboden, Va., to the late Kenneth and Bobbie Jean Cribb Delph.
Larry attended McDowell County Schools and graduated from Welch Senior High School in Welch, W.Va.
He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1972-1975. He retired as a switchman/conductor from Norfolk Southern Railway after 35 years. Larry was a past chief of Lake Norman Fire and Rescue in Mooresville.
He was passionate about spending time with his grandsons and enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, and most recently his weekly bowling league and going to beach concerts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Darles Sweeney, Sherry Delph, and Danny Delph.
Those left to cherish Larry’s memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Susie Berry Delph; daughter, Angele Delph Raulston; brother, Terry Delph; grandsons, Kayton and Reese Raulston; several nieces, nephews; and fur babies, Mia and Max.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home chapel, Mooresville, with Rev. Glenda Flanary officiating, with military honors and Fireman’s Last Call.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will be held (on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville, N.C.
