Linda Kay Beard Wingler, 78, of Statesville, N.C., put up an amazing, good fight and received her crown of righteousness peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Linda was born October 20, 1947, in Caldwell County to the late Oscar Junior Beard and Lois Ingram Beard Jenkins. She was a member of The Rock Church. She retired from Walmart, and she worked in the children’s nursery at the YMCA for 15 years. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing, shagging, shopping and listening to music (especially Elvis!).

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her fiancé, Laurence “Larry” Joseph Rasmussen; her daughter, Lisa Ann Hall; a sister, Rita McGee; and a brother, Dennis Beard.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Rev. Waistel Beard (Sherry) and Stanley Beard; sisters, Rachel Sigmon (Donald), Beverly Lapin and Vickie Black (John); sister-in-law, Susan Beard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, in the Troutman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Pharr officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 1 p.m.
