Lisa Cash Davis, 58, of Troutman, N.C., peacefully passed away on October 7, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with inflammatory breast cancer. She was born on July 20, 1967, in Troutman, the daughter of the late James C. Cash and Brenda Sue Kates-Cash.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Sue Cash.

Lisa was a caring, creative, funny and outgoing soul who never met a stranger. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. She was guaranteed to put a smile on your face when you saw her. A lifelong lover of crafting, Lisa could often be found creating something — whether it was a handmade decoration, a thoughtful gift, or a new project she saw online and needed to try. She was also a passionate animal lover who rescued and cared for hundreds of animals throughout her life through volunteering, fostering, and adopting. She also loved “splunkering,” riding around in her Jeep with the top off, and, most of all, spending time with her family, who meant everything to her. She will forever be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin and friend.

Lisa faced inflammatory breast cancer with incredible strength, courage, and grace. Throughout her journey, she continued to live life to the fullest — always smiling, laughing, and finding joy in the little things. She inspired everyone around her with her resilience and positive spirit.

She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, her wife of 27 years, Melanie Shirley; daughter, Lura Dean, and son-in-law, Joshua, of Mooresville, N.C.; granddaughters, Kendra and Lexi; sister, Sherry Cash of Troutman, N.C.; and many beloved family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Lisa will be held on Saturday, October 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. In true Lisa fashion, guests are invited to wear Hawaiian shirts or bright colors to celebrate her vibrant spirit.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Mitchell and staff at Southern Oncology Specialists, and to Dr. Princess Thomas and staff at the Breast Care Center of Carolina, for their compassionate and supportive care. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The IBC Network Foundation.
