Mary Frances Ramseur Tatum was born on February 13, 1949, in Iredell County, to the late Rodney Ramseur Jr. and Mary A. Holland Ramseur. She departed this life on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Emory Hillandale Hospital, Lithonia, Ga.

She was married to William Nathaniel Tatum, who preceded her in death in 2021. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, James Rodney Ramseur; three grandchildren, Isaiah Ramseur, William Dalton, and Natavis Tatum; and two nephews, Brad Armstrong and Derek Turner.

Mary graduated from Unity High School in 1967, and she retired from AT&T in 2008.

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life four children, Yolanda Joi Ramseur of Decatur, Ga.; Tonya (Patrick) Stout, William Frankie Tatum, and Casey Tatum, all of Mocksville, N.C.; three brothers, Reverend Robert (Lorna) Ramseur and William Ramseur, both of Cool Springs, N.C., and Donald (Debbie) Ramseur of Lithonia, Ga.; two sisters, Elizabeth A. Ramseur and Carl Elaine Ramseur, both of Decatur, Ga.; a special friend and caregiver, Norma Bolds of Georgia; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
