Melissa Hicks Tilley, 57, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with illness on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Born to the late Grady and Mary Hicks, Melissa was a devoted wife, aunt, sister, mom and friend. She married her loving husband, Billy Ray Tilley, eight years ago and cherished her role as a housewife.
A member of Bright Light Church in Statesville, Melissa had a heart that was full of love for flowers, crocheting, cooking and spending time with her familyβand her loyal companion, Remy.
Preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Mary Hicks, her sister Darlene Myers and her baby girl Michelle, Melissa is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Tilley, her daughter, Beverly, and a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who will deeply cherish her memory.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
