Michael “Mikie” Lloyd Johnson, 47, of Statesville, N.C., went to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Atrium Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, N.C.

He was born July 4, 1978, in High Point, N.C., to the late Lynn Frye Johnson and Michael Lee Johnson. Mikie was a graduate of Ledford High School in Davidson County. He was also a graduate of East Carolina University, where he received a BS/BA in Management Information Systems. Mikie was a Senior Information Analyst for Lowe’s Corp.

Mikie enjoyed all forms of racing. He was an avid saltwater and freshwater fisherman. He was a very spiritual man and was extremely passionate about his church, Liberty Baptist Church. He was a very independent person. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his mother, Lynn Frye Johnson, Mikie wa preceded in death by his Uncle Tom Cheves.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy Witherspoon Johnson; his father, Michael L. Johnson; mother- and father-in-law, Cathy and Gary Witherspoon; sister and brother-in-law, Stacy and Mark Hawk; brother and sister-in-law, Mark Witherspoon and Jennifer; aunts and uncles, Diane and Charlie Mills, Angie Cheves, Roger and Gaye Frye, and Larry and Bonnie Frye; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, Johnson Dairy Road, Mooresville. The funeral service will be on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 3 p.m. also at the church with Rev. Eddie Graham officiating. Mikie will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
