Oma Mae Spaulding Thompson, 79, of Troutman, N.C., went to her heavenly home on October 26, 2025.
Born on September 6, 1946, in Crystal, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Olive Spaulding. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dallas Thompson and her siblings, Polina Hash, Franklin Spaulding, William Spaulding and Thomas Spaulding.
Oma was a faithful member of Northview Freewill Baptist Church in Statesville until her health prevented her attending. She loved to do crafts, loved spending time with family and friends, loved taking car rides to see the fall leaves and snow, and loved to read.
She will be remembered for her kindness, love and hospitality for others, along with her unwavering strength and perseverance in dealing with the physical ailments and restrictions that would break most people — but not her. She was an inspiration to us all and will be missed dearly.
She will be forever lovingly remembered by her siblings, Keith Spaulding (Diane Hamilton), Roy Spaulding, Jackie Spaulding (Sandra Spaulding), CJ Spaulding (Tessa Spaulding) and Glenna Anders; as well as many other family, in-laws and friends.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Troutman Funeral Home is serving the family of Oma Mae Thompson.
