Pamela Jean Morrison, 74, danced her way into heaven, probably to a Jimmy Buffett song, early on May 1, 2025. She was born on January 12, 1951, to Winston Morrison, who predeceased her. Other loved ones who were waiting to greet her in heaven include Alice Morrison, her grandmother who raised her and whom Pam lovingly called Mama, her grandfather George Morrison, her stepmother Helen Morrison, numerous uncles and other family members.

Left to cherish her memory here on earth are her daughter Alice Thompson Smiley, and her son David Thompson, as well as her granddaughters Ariel Smiley Peterson, Angel Smiley Millington and Aria Thompson, along with four precious great-grandsons. Pam is also survived by her beloved aunt, Mary Ruth Morrison Lipe, and numerous cousins who will miss her terribly.

Pam truly loved life and cherished time spent with her loved ones, including her group of high school friends who called themselves “the Queen Bees.” She loved dancing, especially shagging, and enjoyed spending time at Myrtle Beach, particularly during SOS Week. She loved to cook and often shared her delicious food with friends and family, especially anyone who was ill or recovering from surgery. She loved to laugh and make those around her laugh as well. She was very proud of her Morrison heritage and was a great source of family history for younger family members. Pam made a career as a hairdresser for many years and leaves behind many former co-workers and clients who loved her dearly.

Pam’s memorial service will be Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home’s Heritage House. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pam’s memory, as a tribute to her love of the USA, to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which serves our armed forces, veterans, first responders and their families: Gary Sinise Foundation, Gift Processing Dept, PO Box 1858, Merrifield VA., 22116-9641 or garysinisefoundation.org.

Pam will be truly missed and loved forever by all who cherished her.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville is proudly serving the Morrison family.
