Patricia Vivian White Sturgis, affectionately known as “Pat Pat,” passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, N.C. She was 74 years old.

Patricia was born on October 8, 1950, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Donald Ralph White Sr. and Edwina Gaither White. A proud graduate of Denby High School, Class of 1968, she later continued her education at Mitchell Community College. Patricia dedicated much of her professional life to serving as an office coordinator at Rubbermaid, where she was admired for her reliability, warmth, and professionalism.

A devoted member of Cameron Presbyterian Church, Patricia was deeply rooted in her faith and community. She served faithfully as both a deacon and elder and was a beloved member of the kitchen committee, always offering a helping hand and a generous heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Donald White Jr.; the love of her life, Melvin Garner; and her sister-in-law, Tinley Thompson.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Larry Thompson (special friend, Ondra Ferrell); her brother, Jermaine White of Michigan; and five sisters, Bobbie Eusary, Brenda White, and Rosalind White of Michigan; and India White and Tabitha White of Charlotte, N.C. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jill Thompson of Michigan; six grandchildren, Ivory Thompson, Larry Thompson III, Sophia Thompson, Kahlib Titus, Yani Dobson, and Kristopher Charles; and three great-grandchildren, Nyomi Branch, Nyne Parker, and Nyshiem Parker; and a host of nieces and nephews, including Edwina Eusary and Franklin Eusary of Detroit, Dawn Eusary of Las Vegas, Donyette White, Donald White III, Nakia White, Jimall White, and Isiah White of Detroit, Charmaine White of Texas, Jeremiah White of Charlotte, and Dominique March of Detroit; along with many cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Patricia “Pat Pat” Sturgis was a woman of deep faith, enduring strength, and abundant compassion. Her radiant smile, kind spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and church community will be remembered and cherished always.

Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Cameron Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
