Peggy Jean Compton Shive, 83, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House. She was born December 23, 1941, to the late John Daniel Compton and the late Lucy Templeton Compton.

Peggy worked for many years as the secretary of Auto Parts and Electric in Statesville.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Morgan “Sandy” Shive Jr.; and her sister, Louise Cook.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Charles M. “Chuck” Shive (Becky); daughter, Leigh Guill; grandchildren, Andrew Shive, Corey Shive, Alex Guill, Lindsay Alford (Drew), and Brayden Guill; and great-grandchildren, Hazel and Palmer.

A graveside service will be held at Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. Family will visit with friends following the service at the Concord Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. The family encourages you to reach out to friends, family, or community members experiencing loneliness or isolation with a telephone call, letter or a visit to help ease long hours alone.
