Ramsay James Stuart, 46, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 27, 2025. Born on November 16, 1978, Ramsay was a proud 1997 graduate of St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, N.J., and the Cittone Institute.
A highly skilled carpenter, he was admired for his exceptional craftsmanship and creativity. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend — someone whose presence brought strength, warmth, and kindness to all who knew him.
Ramsay is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa, and their cherished sons, Ramsay Jr. and Dylan. He also leaves behind his mother, Maureen Benesch; his father, James Stuart, and stepmother, Patricia Stuart; his sister, Heather Committee, her husband, Mick, and their children, Nathan, Aubrey and Silas; and his sister, Rebecca Woods, her husband, Brian, and their children, Connor and Isla.
He was predeceased by his brother, Brian Woodruff; and his grandparents, Donald and Elizabeth Stuart, and Frank and Patricia Benesch.
A deeply devoted father, Ramsay found immense joy in coaching his sons and being actively involved in their lives. His adventurous spirit and skilled hands were evident in his love for motocross riding, shooting, and building — passions that reflected his vibrant energy, creativity, and heart.
Ramsay’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
