Reatherline Carson Gray, 79, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on September 23, 1945, to the Carolyn Elaine Carson. She passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, N.C. She was married to Michael Gray, who preceded her in death. Her brother, Michael Carson, and her sister, Theodoius Summers, also preceded her in death.

Reatherline attended Unity High School, and she worked as a sprayer at a furniture company. Reatherline loved working crossword puzzles and word search puzzles.

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life one son, Rickey (April) Chambers; two sisters, Regiana Brown and Diane Wilson, both of Statesville, N.C.; one grandchild, Shanaicy Chambers; one sister-in-law, Peggy Summers; and a host of god children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary, Statesville, N.C. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hamptonville, N.C.
