Rick Larry Losasso, 55, of Statesville, N.C., departed from this life on Friday, May 9 2025, due to a tragic vehicle accident on his route to work. He died at Iredell Memorial Hospital in the early morning hours.

Rick was born in Chicago, Ill., on November 24, 1969. Rick will always be remembered as a hard-working family man. He loved the simple things in life such as sports, working outdoors and music.

Rick was departed in this life by his father William Losasso and mother. Rick was most recently departed in this life by his daughter Nancy Evans.

Rick is survived by lifelong partner and soulmate Ellen White. They shared three surviving children, John Childress of West Virginia, and daughters Dallas Jarrell and Sheila Childress, both of Statesville, N.C. Rick was survived by his siblings. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other family members on both sides.

Rick was a grandfather to five grandchildren, Bentley Jarrell (age 10), Hunter Jarrell (age 9), Kinsley Jarrell (age 6), Waylon Childress (age 3) and lastly his granddaughter Oakley Childress he had been patiently waiting for who was born four days after Rick’s death.

Rick will also be remembered by his friend Bruce Kennedy and everyone he left an impression on. As Rick‘s family, we feel compelled to give a reminder that life is short and to cherish every moment and person in your life. Fly High, blue eyes. You finally scored that touchdown. You may be gone, but you’ll never be forgotten. Your memory carries on forever.
