Robert Arwell Overcash of Iredell County, N.C., passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 15, 1935, to the late Wade Davidson Overcash and Sadie Kennerly Overcash, Robert was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle whose quiet strength and steady presence touched the lives of many. Mr. Overcash loved watching old Westerns he saw hundreds of times, sharing memories, especially about his time on the bread truck, and being a social butterfly. He never encountered a stranger and waved or spoke to anyone who passed him by.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Gill Overcash; his son, Chris Overcash; brothers, Hugh Overcash and Wade “Bud” Davidson Overcash Jr.; and sisters, Sadie “Sandy” Louise Miller and Carolyn Brown.

He is survived by his son, Kelly Overcash, and his daughter, Lana Overcash; his sister, Frances Davis; and his cherished grandchildren, Amanda Overcash, Brittany Keller, and Cody Overcash. Robert also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him with love and fondness.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12 noon at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Troutman.
