Robert Craig Campbell, 80, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, at his home.

Robert was born April 23, 1945, in Iredell County to the late Robert Ellis Campbell and Vera Craig Campbell. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was retired from JCPenney Warehouse. He dearly loved his family, and he had a love for horses.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Hoover Campbell, and two sisters, Julia Fletcher and Sylvia Dagenhart.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Craig Ellis Campbell (Kathryn) and Jerry Wade Campbell (Candy); grandchildren, Douglas Wade Campbell, Amber Lucille Parsons (Daniel), and Payton Ophelia Campbell (fiancée, Kaitlyn Smith-Potts); great-grandchildren, Paisley and Kinsely Douglas; sister, Carolyn Niblock (John); and stepsons, Ricky (Robin) and Tony Horne (Carolyn).

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 31, at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Denise Kilgo and Rev. Joe Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at Bethel UMC prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Whitt, Charlie Henline, Randy Philman, Tim Mathis, Jason Gundert and French Brawley.
