Rodney Dale Bentley, 57, formerly of Hiddenite, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 25, 2025. He was born December 7, 1967, in Alexander County, the son of Harold Bentley and Gay Jolly Bentley of Taylorsville.

Rodney was a self-employed freight broker and a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He loved to go to flea markets and enjoyed antiques. He liked almost all sports, especially baseball.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish and honor Rodney’s memories include his son, Seth Branch (Kristin) of Hudson; his daughter, Lacey Branch of Marion; his grandchildren, Sophiea, Skylan, Landon, and Laurel; and his brother, Randy Bentley of Taylorsville.

The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. Dr. James Smith, Pastor Matt Cranford, and Pastor Tim Jolly will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service.
