Roger Dale Meredith, 75, of Union Grove, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 15, on2025, following a brief illness at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Roger was born in Iredell County on May 19, 1949, to the late Sam Woodrow Meredith and Esther Sharpe Meredith.

Roger loved gardening, fishing, the outdoors, and his pets. Roger served in the U.S. Army. He retired from construction work. He was a member of Barkers Grove Baptist Church in Union Grove. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Meredith; one brother, Jerry Meredith; and one sister, Peggy Meredith.

Those left to cherish his memory are one son, Stephen Meredith of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Rice, and husband Austin of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Wanda Daniels of Taylorsville and Hilda Russel of Stony Point; one brother, Jimmy Meredith of Stony Point; and three grandchildren, Caitlin Rice, Elsie Rice, and Peyton Rice.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 19, 2025, at noon at Barkers Grove Baptist Church. Pastor Keith Stanley and Pastor Randy Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the church.
