Rubin Earl Shaver, 76, of Salisbury, N.C., passed away on August 10, 2025. He was born on April 1, 1949, in Sanford, N.C.
Rubin was a proud graduate of Statesville Senior High School, Class of 1967. He continued his education at Mitchell Community College, graduating in 1969, and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from Appalachian State University in 1971. Rubin went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of First Lieutenant, and he also served as Captain in the North Carolina National Guard. After his military service, he dedicated his career to managing the family-owned business, Shaver Woodworks, where he worked until his retirement.
Known for his warm spirit and steadfast loyalty, Rubin was a passionate fan of Duke basketball, a devoted NASCAR enthusiast, and he always found joy in spending time by the ocean.
Rubin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Travis Shaver, and his sister, Earlene Shaver Bland. He is survived by his devoted wife, Pat; his daughters, Tamara LaBelle (Rodney), Melanie Cummings (Jeff), Andrea Warlick (Jason), and Miranda King (Jamie); and his stepchildren, Brittany Harkey (Matthew) and Jason Gibbs. Rubin was a proud and loving grandfather to Carson Rector (Eli), Addison Dellinger (Dylan), Chase LaBelle, Andrew Cummings, Adam Cummings, Carter Warlick, Parker Warlick, Reagan Ervin (Jake), Kai King, Zane King, Tenley Harkey, and Saylor Harkey.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, NC.
Rubin will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his genuine love of life, his quiet strength, and the unwavering kindness and care he extended to everyone around him.
