Sabrina Anne McIntosh, 41, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on February 29, 1984, to Cathy McIntosh and the late Rick McIntosh Jr. From the very beginning, she was an attention grabber who quickly became your favorite to be around. She caught all with her magnificent smile, sassy attitude, and love as soon as she walked into the room. After meeting Sabrina, people often learned about the size of her heart. It took one time to sit and talk with her, and she captured your heart, soul, and everything in between. She was affectionately known as Brina to many, most of all her six younger siblings. She kept them all in line, but was their biggest protector, too. She had a huge love of music, dancing, Tinker Bell, babies, and her favorite color was purple. Everything she owned had purple in it somewhere.

Sabrina loved learning and going to school. Her favorite part of school was art. She loved coloring the most. For any holiday or birthday, you would be gifted a piece — or ten — of her work. She was an avid participant in the Special Olympics and an athletic program throughout her childhood, Special Athletics for Challenged Children (SACC). Sabrina graduated from Lake Norman High School in 2005. After that, she attended a special program at Mitchell Community College.

Of all the many things that Brina was good at, she was the best at being an aunt. Aunt Brina was the proud aunt to twelve nieces and nephews with another on the way. If you ask any of them, they will all say that she was their favorite Aunt. They have a lot to choose from. She would be the first to tell you how many of them she had — even if you did not ask her.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her father, Rick McIntosh Jr.; niece Kelsey; grandparents; Pappy and Papaw Richard, and Mamaw Carolyn; and an aunt.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving mother, Catherine “Cathy;” sisters; LaNell and Riggs Jones, Ashley and Jordan Casarella, Janice and Travis Pruitt, Brittney and Ryan Trevathan, and Rikki and Corey Shull; brother, Trey and Sydney McIntosh; adored nieces and nephews, Kamdyn, Laynie, Jakson, Holden, Gray, CJ, Ayden, Mac, Noah, Allie, Oliver, Henry, and baby Charlie; grandmother Nanny; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 3, at Shearer Presbyterian Church, Mooresville.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the McIntosh family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
