
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sally Cook, 78, of Mooresville, N.C., who departed this life on December 15, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.
Born on February 18, 1947, in Chicago, Ill., Sally was the cherished daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Mullen Cook. Sally’s life was a testament to strength and resilience. Growing up in Chicago, she forged a path that led her to become a dedicated waitress in the food service industry, nurturing her passion for connecting with people through her work. A member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, she drew comfort from her faith and found solace in her community.
A woman of many interests, Sally loved to spend her time crocheting, sewing, and whipping up delicious meals for her loved ones. Her keen intellect and quick wit often entertained those around her, and she never hesitated to engage in thoughtful discussions, particularly about the world of politics, where her opinions were well-informed and passionately held.
Sally’s legacy will live on through her beloved family. She was a proud mother to her son, Vincent Brock, and a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, Megan and Sean Brock.
Sally was also known for her spirited allegiance to her favorite sports teams, proudly cheering for the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Her unwavering spirit and joy for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Barbara, Patty, Katy, Michael, John “Jackie”, Ronald, Diana, Joan, Theresa, Robert, Richard “Dickie”, and Raymond; and son, Vincent.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Megan Brock and Sean Brock; great grandsons, Oliver, Jack, and Eli; sisters, Anna Mae, Gail, and Sharon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In celebration of Sally’s life, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville.
Sally will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
