On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, Sandra Robertson Smith, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 77. Born in Statesville, N.C., on March 27, 1978, she lived a life full of love, adventure, and deep connection to her family and community.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Ray Robertson Jr.; her mother, Fannie Beatrice Robertson; raised by Pauline Robertson; her sister, Nita River; her brother, Randy Robertson; and her grandparents, Lucy Clark, Nina Robertson, and Willie Ray Robertson Sr.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted and loving husband of 24 years, Roger Smith, whose companionship and support brought her great joy and comfort.

She will be fondly remembered by her cherished siblings; Geraldine (Jay) Grimes, Tyrone (Peggy) Morrison of Statesville, James Morrison, Robin Morrison, and Wanda Martin of Harrisburg, and Regina Morrison of Maryland as well as sister-in-laws Denise (Gary) Feimster, and Lorna (Robert) Ramseur.

A proud and loving mother, she leaves behind two children, Elmer Davis Jr. and Carla Templeton, who will forever carry her legacy in their hearts. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Erica Davis, John Templeton III, Marshetta Wellman, and Jammie Wellman; and to her treasured great-grandchildren; Erion Jones, Maysha Turner, Mecca Turner, Derrick Howell Jr., Blythe Dawson, Ammon Cook, John Templeton IV, Natalia Templeton, and Neveah Templeton.

She was a dedicated servant of Jehovah as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was baptized on November 21, 2010. She was moved to start pioneering in 2013 to share her faith with others and did so until the end of her life, amounting to 12 years.

Sandra had a zest for life that was truly infectious. She loved to travel and explore new places, especially when it meant discovering a new restaurant to enjoy. Some of her fondest memories were made on trips to Baltimore, indulging in her favorite crabs and corned beef sandwiches. An avid viewer of NC Weekend, she often turned inspiration from the show into exciting day trips to the featured destinations. Her adventurous spirit was matched by her generous heart — she adored thrift shopping at Goodwill, always searching for the perfect little treasure to gift her friends and family.

She will be remembered for her warm heart, her nurturing soul, and the joy she brought to every room she entered. Her memory will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Statesville.
