Sherry Lynn Nichols Wilson, 64, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on January 27, 1961, the daughter of Willie C. Turner and the late Betty Jane Nichols Dobbins. She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Wilson, and Tanya Lachelle Nichols.
Sherry was a graduate of North Iredell High School and worked as a machine operator at Asmo Manufacturing.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life two sons, Anthony D. Nichols of Advance, N.C., and Maurice Boyd of Concord, N.C.; three brothers, Charles Nichols and Vincent Nichols, both of Statesville, and Darren Houpe of Kinston, Washington; three sisters: Loretta (Curtis) Alexander, Michelle Jackson, and Natalie Turner (Harvey), all of Statesville, N.C.; uncles, Stevie Nichols of Harmony, N.C., and Gary Nichols and Rick Nichols of Statesville; aunts, Barbara Gaither and Rhonda Nichols, both of Harmony, Carla Nichols of Statesville, Valarie Brown and Emanuel Brown; her beloved grandchildren: Anthony Nichols Jr., Sanijha Latanya Nichols, Amaria Dobbins, Daquqna Dobbins, and Azariah C. Ella Louise Parks; and one great-grandchild: Bank Dobbins; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends also survive her and will deeply miss her presence.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2 p.m. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Reverend Emmanuel Brown will deliver the eulogy, and burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Statesville, NC.
