Soyvonia Evette Neils, 56, was born in Iredell County on January 23, 1969, to Tony William Miller and the late JoeAnn Neils Gibbs. She entered into eternal life on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Copper Health and Rehab Center in Concord, N.C. She was also preceded in death by grandparents, Russel Neil and Daisy Viola Adams Neils; uncles, Ameil Neils and Russell Neils; aunts, Cornette Neils Parker, and Janet Neils; and a cousin, Karen Neils.

Evette was a graduate of Statesville High School, and she also attended Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C. She worked in the Cabarrus County School System as a bus driver. She was a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Cabarrus County. She was more than a mother; she was our rock, our encourager, our source of unconditional love. Her warmth, laughter, and strength touched everyone who had the joy of knowing her. Evette will truly be missed.

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life her father, Tony William Miller (Eva); a son, Myles Davon Neils; and one daughter, Armoni Dachay Neils; one brother, Tony William Miller Jr.; two sisters, Melissa Ann Neils, and Suprena Danette Gibbs; one uncle, James Miller; six aunts, Peggy Neils, Sue Gray, Phyllis Morrison, Nadine Morrison, Anne Tatum, and Lucille Miller; two granddaughters, Gianni Kaliyah Neils, and Forever Armoni Belton; five nephews, JaJuan Costner, Calvin Costner, Kobe Goodson, Courtney Mayfield Jr. and Jaylen Jones; seven nieces, Teara Neils, Desiree Mayfield, Toni Jones, Jasmine Jones, Jatanna Jones, Brazeek Jones, and Egypt Jones; and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Pastor Keisha Carr will bring the eulogy, and burial will follow in the Belmont cemetery.
