Suzette Bowles Hobbs, 73, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in her hometown of Mooresville, N.C. Born on September 8, 1951, also in Mooresville, Suzette spent her life deeply rooted in the community that shaped her and which she served with quiet strength and enduring love.

A proud graduate of King’s College, Suzette earned a certificate in Business Administration, a foundation that would support a long and dedicated career. She served as the office manager for Western Southern Life for over three decades. Her professionalism and commitment left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.

Suzette was a devoted member of Berea Baptist Church of Mooresville. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, reflected in her compassion for others and her steadfast presence within the church community. One of her greatest joys was singing in the church choir, where her voice lifted the spirits of all who heard it and reflected the joy she found in worship. Family was at the heart of everything Suzette did.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Brittany, and son-in-law, Marvin Starnes; granddaughters Braelyn and Karrington, who were the apple of her eye; siblings Ricky Bowles and Diane (David Billerman); niece Amy Anderson; and nephews Barrett Anderson and Smith Bowles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Muriel and Rachel Bowles.

Suzette found joy in simple pleasures — sewing intricate patterns with care, crafting thoughtful creations by hand, and spending cherished days at the beach surrounded by family. These moments reflected her nurturing spirit and creative soul.

To those who knew her best, Suzette was a pillar of strength. She was always ready with a listening ear, a warm embrace, or words of encouragement. Her unwavering support uplifted those around her, especially her granddaughters who brought immense joy to her life.

A funeral service to honor Suzette’s life will be held at Cavin-Cook Funeral home in Mooresville on June 26, 2025. Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. with service immediately to follow. In lieu of flowers, Suzette has requested donations of pet food/supplies to be collected at the service so a donation to Piedmont Animal Rescue can be made in her name.

May Suzette’s memory continue to bring comfort to all who loved her and serve as a reminder of a life lived with grace, devotion, and heartfelt generosity.
