Teresa “TT” or “Resa” Vonne White Rankin, 64, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. A native of Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Sylvester White III and Dequilla Jane Davidson White.

Most recently, she was a homemaker, but previously, she worked for Jockey and Black & White Knitting.

She was notable in her love for her husband, children (plus MANY adopted children), grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilson Davidson, David James White and Terry Allen White; two sisters, Sylvia Jean Morrison and Deborah Denise White; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Rankin; and her nephew, Terry “Goonch” Stovall.

“Resa” is survived by her husband of 35 years, John Robert Rankin. Also surviving are her son, John Rankin (Cassie) of Hudson, N.C.; daughters, Aleisha Rankin of Statesville and Schquall Rankin of Mooresville; her brother, Franklin Sylvester White Jr (Adell) of Statesville; two sisters, Agnes Jane Imes and Dorothy Louise White, both of Statesville; her grandchildren, Titus Summers Jr. and Josiah Marion, both of the home; Alayna and Aubrey Rankin of Pennsylvania, Skyler Rankin of Statesville, Peyton Rankin of California, and Nyla, Tristyn and Caiden Rankin of Hudson, N.C.; her mother-in-law, Gwendolyn Rankin of Statesville; sisters-in-law, Karen Cowan (Leonard) of Troutman and Pauline White of Statesville; and brother-in-law, Larry Rankin (Gloria) of Statesville. A special friend, Delilah Mathis of Statesville, and a host of special nieces and nephews and numerous cousins also survive her.

A funeral service celebrating “TT” will be held in the Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2 p.m. with Pastor James E. Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service.
