Terry Lynn Potter, 78, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, N.C.

He was born on April 29, 1947, in New York to the late Walter Potter and Marion Bowman Potter. Terry proudly served his country as a pilot in the Air Force. His love for flying led him to later have a career as a pilot for commercial airlines. He enjoyed sports, especially golf and football. Terry loved being on the lake on his pontoon, especially with his family. He held an appreciation of music and was an accomplished trumpet player.

In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by his daughter, Casey J. Potter, and
sister, Cheryl Freytag.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila H. Potter; daughters, Kristin Potter Louque and Traci Potter Bungay (Thomas); and grandchildren, Miranda Potter, Sayla Potter Kuch, Kayden Ryland Potter, Margaret Louque, Henry Louque, Charles Louque, and George Louque.

A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be on July 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
