William “Bill” Clyde Karriker, 84 passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at his residence. A native of Iredell County, N.C., he was the son of the late Harvey Lotten and Viola Benfield Karriker.
A graduate of Troutman High School, Bill worked in the dye house at Templon Spinning Mills and retired from American Roller Bearings. He attended Hebron Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Lee Karriker; by a grandson, Joshua Akers; and by his beloved dog, “Beau.”
Bill is survived by his wife of 11 years, Betty Jean Brown Hayes Karriker, who he married on August 7, 2014. He is also survived by his son, Tim Karriker of Statesville, N.C.; his daughters, Cheryl Karriker Lee and Anita Kay Crankshaw, both of Statesville; by his stepsons, Leonard Hayes of Olin and Gene Hayes (AnnaMaria) of Savannah, Ga.; stepdaughter, Melinda Hayes (Joe) of Statesville; a sister, Linda Steele Bresett (Buddy) of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Jonathon (Dani) and Jared Akers, Meagan Crankshaw, and Morgen Campbell. Three great-grandchildren, Conner Akers, Kadee Akers and Sammy Akers, also survive him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Hebron Baptist Church, 175 Hebron Road, Statesville, N.C. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. A committal service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025. An escorted funeral procession from Hebron Baptist Church to First United Methodist Church Cemetery, 204 Mills Avenue, in Troutman, N.C. will follow the funeral service.
