William Horton, 63, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville following a brief illness.

William was born in Iredell County on April 19, 1962, to the late Roy Horton and Patricia Long Horton. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed music, sports, and being a Tar Heels fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Cherie Horton; grandfather Roy Franklin Horton; and grandmother Amilee Horton.

Survivors include one brother, Charles Horton, and his wife Crystal of Olin.

A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Chapman Funeral Home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
