Alisha Nichole Millsaps, 37, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in Mecklenburg County. She was born on September 21, 1988, in Iredell County to the late Mark Eckles and Melisse Millsaps.

Alisha attended North Iredell High School, and she was a caregiver for several years. Alisha enjoyed being with her family, traveling, going to car meets and the drag strip. She definitely liked going to the fish tables.

She was preceded in death by her father Mark Eckles; her mom Melisse Millsaps; an infant brother; great-grandparents Baxter (Elizabeth) Millsaps of Stony Point and William (Bernice) Flowers of Catawba; and paternal grandparents W. Larnell Eckles (Nellie); paternal grandmother Carrie Mae Eckles of Harmony and four aunts, an uncle, and three cousins.

She will be remembered by her grandparents Jerry (Ruby) Millsaps; two daughters Ashiya Millsaps and Zariah Millsaps; a son Zay’Tavion Millsaps; sisters Shakeia Millsaps and Ta’Myra Millsaps; brother Dominique Waddell; nephew Ahkari Millsaps; nieces Zynia Bailey, Raelyn and Reighn Robinson, and Ava and Ariana Robinson of Statesville. Also surviving are a host of aunts and uncles Shervon (Robert) Houpe of Cleveland, Alonzo Millsaps (Kellin) of Taylorsville, Marlene (Kenny) Eckles, Darlene (David) Thompson of Harmony and Roxanne Eckles of Statesville, Ricky (Tonya) Eckles of High Point, Brenda (Anthony) Johnson of Troutman, Peggy (Darrell) Millsaps of Statesville, Sereather Muse of Baltimore, Md., great uncles Gilbert Eckles of Harmony, James (Regina) Eckles of Fairfax,  Va., Patricia Eckles of Harmony, Nelda Chambers of Harmony, Rozell (Thomas) Femister of Virginia Beach, Va., Dennis (Cynthia) Campbell Sr. of Statesville, Michael Campbell of Harmony, William Eckles Jr. of Statesville, and James Eckles of Brunswick.

“With humble acceptance of God’s will, we know she is resting with the Lord.”

The Homegoing Service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Zion Chapel AME Zion Church. Pastor Robin Curry will serve as the eulogist and Rev. Dale Gibson will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
