Allen Wayne Sherrill, 74, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. He was born January 27, 1952 in Mooresville, N.C., to the late Keith and Kathleen Sherrill.

‍Allen worked at R nell Homes for many years. He then started his own business doing side jobs for people, many for free. He loved his family, friends and his dog Banks. Allen never met a stranger. In his younger years his nickname was “Squirrel.”

He is survived by his daughter Dana (Benjamin Diaz); four grandchildren, Benjamin Alexander Diaz, Oliver Lucas Diaz, Thomas Ezra Diaz and Theodore Isaac Diaz; two sisters Janet and Anne; and one brother Bill.

‍A celebration of Allen’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, with visitation followed by a service at 12 noon at Webbs Chapel United Methodist Church, 4640 Webbs Chapel Church Road, Denver, NC 28037.
