
Rebecca Anne Collier, 75, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, at Summit Place of Mooresville, N.C., where the awesome staff took excellent care of her.
Born on August 14, 1950, in Mooresville, she was the daughter of the late Emmett E Cruse Jr.” Pop” and Rebecca “Becky” Cruse; sister of William B Cruse of Raliegh and the late Emmett E “Gene” Cruse III of Charlotte, N.C.; former wife of the late Terrell “Terry” William Collier of Holly Hill, S.C.; mother of David Eugene Collier; grandmother of Dylan Taylor and Nathan Alec Collier as well as the late Ryan David Collier; sister-in-law of Debbie Bair, Kittie Collier and Russell “Rusty” Collier; and aunt of Josh, William, Wesley, and Gabriel Collier.
Anne was a 1968 graduate of Mooresville Senior High School. She was a lifetime member of Mooresville ARP Church. She attended Erskine and Kings College with the dream of becoming a fashion buyer for a department store. Anne worked several retail jobs with a stint at Belk and Roses. In order to have a more agreeable work schedule for her son, she took an administrative position with Park View Elementary in the Mooresville Graded School District, where she served for 27 years. There she acted as a public servant for the community. Beloved by students, parents, and staff. Another passion of hers was cooking, baking and preparing food for friends, family and events. She and longtime friend Carolyn Cook started a small catering business which brought her great joy. After retiring from the school system, she became a part-time care giver and taxi service for her two grandchildren as well as a weekly volunteer at FeedNC of Mooresville.
A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 14, in the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville. The family will great family and friends immediately following the service.
